Case Planning and Discovery
Case Planning and Discovery introduces newer attorneys and paralegals to the basics of legal analysis, discovery planning and fact development. Small group sessions, interactive exercises, demonstrations and role plays all help foster active engagement and a fresh, questioning approach to fundamental skills. Participants leave with practical skills and new insights that they can apply immediately to their day to day work: case plans, written discovery methods, document management, e-discovery and more.
Topics covered in this course include:
- Deposition Planning and Practice
- Discovery Plans
- Fact Analysis
- Informal Discovery MethodsInformation and Document Management
- Written Discovery Methods
Case Planning & Discovery was immensely useful because it gave us the tools to anticipate steps in the progression of cases, select appropriate discovery methods and organize our case strategy at the beginning of a case, instead of playing whack-a-mole with issues as they come up . . . I highly suggest it to any legal aid attorney, including those who have been around for some years.
